NFOscope privacy information

NFOscope is a macOS app with Quick Look extensions for NFO previews and Finder thumbnails. These notices describe local processing in the app and voluntary contact with AmoSystems.

Translation notice

This English translation is provided for convenience. If there are any discrepancies, the German version is authoritative.

1. Provider and contact

The provider is Fabian Andres Pablo Amos, trading as AmoSystems, Christburger Straße 15-2, 10405 Berlin, Germany. Email: info@fabianamos.com; telephone: +49 30 442 54 22.

2. Files, settings and system caches

The Quick Look extensions read NFO files made available by macOS for previewing. For the in-app thumbnail test, you select the file yourself. File contents and paths are processed locally; the NFO file is not changed or sent to AmoSystems.

Your selected colour scheme is stored locally in settings shared by the app and its extensions. NFOscope requires no account and operates no cloud-sync service.

macOS may store previews and thumbnails in its own caches. These system data, your NFO files, manually created backups and copied reports are separate from the app installation. Removing the app does not automatically delete those files or system caches. Cloud folders and backup services you choose are governed by their respective settings and privacy notices.

3. Diagnostic reports and optional support scripts

The Quick Look assistant locally checks app and extension metadata and known installation locations. A report copied at your request contains diagnostic results, the time, system version and local installation paths. Paths may contain your user name. The report is copied only to the clipboard and is not sent automatically.

Repair and cleanup commands are displayed and copied only at your request. The app does not launch them. Running them in Terminal is a separate, manual action. Instructions and confirmations explain the respective changes to registration, caches or older components; cleanup creates verified ZIP backups before moving components. You manage those backups yourself.

Review reports, screenshots and sample files before sharing them. Remove user names, private paths and content that is not needed to explain the issue.

4. No advertising or automatic transmission

NFOscope includes no advertising, analytics or tracking services and no networking feature of its own for transmitting files or usage data. AmoSystems receives no automatic reports from the app.

Apple may process macOS or App Store diagnostics you choose to share according to your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy terms. Details: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

5. App Store, web links and voluntary support

When you obtain the app through the Mac App Store, Apple processes information such as account, download and payment data under its own terms. NFOscope has no payment processing of its own.

Web links open your browser. When you visit amosystems.org or voluntarily contact support, our general website and contact privacy information also applies: https://amosystems.org/en/privacy/. It explains legal bases, recipients, retention and your rights.

If you email files, screenshots or diagnostic reports to us, we process the supplied content to handle your enquiry. Please include only necessary information and use non-sensitive sample data where possible.
