Privacy policy for Muehlenstein
Last updated: 8 October 2026. This policy describes Muehlenstein for iPhone and iPad. No account is required. Rules, computer moves and hints are calculated on your device. An optional Wi-Fi mode connects two devices directly.
This English translation is provided for convenience. If there are any discrepancies, the German version is authoritative.
1. Controller
Fabian Andres Pablo Amos, trading as AmoSystems. Christburger Straße 15-2, 10405 Berlin, Germany. Email: info@fabianamos.com. Telephone: +49 30 442 54 22.
2. Local storage
Your current game, including move history and game options, as well as appearance and difficulty preferences are saved in the app’s storage on your device. Starting a new game replaces the previous one. The app does not send this data to AmoSystems or a game server.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Offloading is different from deleting. Device backups and restoration depend on your Apple settings. Muehlenstein has no cloud-sync service of its own.
3. Optional Wi-Fi games
When you choose Wi-Fi mode, the app searches for games or advertises your game on the local network. It uses a random technical peer identifier, a random game identifier, the game variant and technical protocol information. Personal device names are not used.
After the invitation is accepted, both devices exchange move history and a reconnection key directly over an encrypted connection. The key is saved locally with the game. The recipient is the connected device of the other player. There is no game server; this data is not sent to AmoSystems.
You can revoke local network access in iOS Settings. Offline game modes remain available. Leaving a network game or moving the app into the background pauses the connection. A saved game can subsequently reconnect to the same opponent.
4. Advertising, tracking and analytics
Muehlenstein includes no advertising, tracking services or embedded analytics or crash-reporting services. The app does not send usage data or device identifiers to AmoSystems. Any operating-system diagnostics you choose to share are processed by Apple under its own terms.
5. Purchases, external links and the website
Apple handles downloads and payments. Muehlenstein has no payment processing of its own and receives no payment details through the app. Apple’s privacy information applies to Apple services: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Website and source-code links open in an external browser only when you select them. The app does not append saved games or device identifiers to these links. The destination provider’s privacy rules apply to the visit. The general privacy policy covers visits to amosystems.org, including hosting and server logs: https://amosystems.org/en/privacy. For GitHub, see https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement.
6. Voluntary contact
If you contact us, we process your contact details, message and any attachments you choose to send to handle your request. Please include only what your enquiry needs. The legal basis is GDPR Article 6(1)(b) for contractual matters, or Article 6(1)(f) otherwise. Our legitimate interest is responding appropriately to enquiries.
As described in AmoSystems’ general privacy policy, a Google email service is used to receive and handle email. Google Ireland Limited and affiliated companies may process messages and metadata; processing outside the European Union cannot be ruled out. Details: https://amosystems.org/en/privacy and https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Support and contact enquiries are normally deleted twelve months after they have been resolved. Longer retention applies only where required by law or necessary for legal claims. Correspondence is not used for advertising.
7. Your rights
Where we process personal data, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability, subject to the legal conditions. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please contact us using the details above.
You may also complain to a data-protection authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information: https://www.datenschutz-berlin.de/buergerinnen-und-buerger/beschwerde/.
